About the studio
A small studio in Ann Arbor with one clear mission.
Startup Lab 24 is a small product studio in Ann Arbor. I'm the founder and primary builder. The studio ships real software — 9products live across education, law, commerce, and operations. That's the engine.
The studio's mission for 2026 is simple and narrow: help seven student founders launch real iOS apps they own a majority of. That's BYOC. Everything else the studio does exists to make that program possible — engineering templates, the Apple Developer account, the infrastructure, the legal paperwork, the time.
If you want the long version of how I got here, it's on the founder page. If you want to see the work, the portfolio is the shortest path.

How the program runs
The studio's role, in one page.
BYOC is an equity-based founder program, not a paid internship. Founders commit 40+ hours a week, hybrid, from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. They own 70% of the company behind their app. I own 30%. Both sides vest on the same 2-year schedule with a 6-month cliff.
Apps ship on the App Store under the Startup Lab 24 developer account. Each app has its own brand and name on the listing. I'm the publisher of record; the founder is the product owner.
I cover everything on the studio side — iOS engineering, hosting, Apple Developer, App Store fees, legal paperwork, Ann Arbor HQ, weekly 1:1s, and the group classroom. Founders cover their own living expenses. No salary, no stipend, zero financial risk to the founder.
Selection is strict. I pick by cover letter and the Daily-30, not by resume. Small cohort on purpose — seven is the most I can mentor deeply in 12 weeks.
The whole studio is pointed at this one program.
